<< Return Press Release To Update Oil and Gas Industry Commercialization EffortsIntegrated Environmental Technologies, Ltd. and Benchmark Performance Group, Inc. Announce Update on Oil and Gas Industry Commercialization Efforts - February 3, 2010 - Little River, South Carolina. Integrated Environmental Technologies, Ltd. (OTC:BB “IEVM”) and Benchmark Performance Group, Inc., jointly announced today that the EPA-registered product, Excelyte®, has successfully been used in a number of gas well fracturing treatments. Benchmark has also been informed that more fracturing jobs utilizing Excelyte ® are planned for the future. To date, several hundred thousand gallons of Excelyte® have been manufactured for use in oil and gas applications. The primary use of Excelyte® is to eliminate oilfield bacteria in water employed in oil and gas wells. Oilfield bacteria are often responsible for pipe corrosion problems and for the creation of hazardous hydrogen sulfide gas (H2S). By eliminating these problem-bacteria from water used to treat wells, operators are mitigating potential damage to their wells and minimizing the potential for generating H2S. Bill Prince, Chairman of Integrated Environmental Technologies, Ltd.’s Board of Directors stated, “After years of dedicated work and meticulous research performed by Benchmark in this market area, we now see the practical commercialization effort coming to fruition. We couldn’t be more pleased to make this announcement today.” Wayne Kinsey, President and CEO of Benchmark, and Vice-Chairman of Integrated Environmental Technologies Ltd.’s Board of Directors, said, “We’re delighted! We’ve been working on this application of Excelyte® for over two years, and while it’s taken longer than we anticipated, and cost more than we imagined for the many types of tests that had to be performed, I am certainly pleased about the news. To be successful in this application, Excelyte® had to be tested as an effective quick kill biocide; it had to be compatible with the storage and pumping equipment used to treat these wells; it had to be compatible with the other additives that comprise the fluids; it had to be safe to handle and use at well site locations; and it had to be completely ‘GREEN!’ We passed all of these goals!” Excelyte® is a totally “GREEN”, environmentally-responsible, EPA registered biocide, and has been proven to be the most effective alternative biocide to the toxic chemicals historically used in oil and gas fracturing jobs, as well as for use in a variety of other produced waters and well treatment applications. Benchmark is reviewing the purchase of additional EcaFlo® machines for its other locations to handle the anticipated Excelyte® business for 2010. About Integrated Environmental Technologies, Ltd. / I.E.T., Inc.: I.E.T., Inc. is a wholly-owned, operating subsidiary of Integrated Environmental Technologies, Ltd. (OTC:BB “IEVM”) I.E.T.’s EcaFlo® equipment produces environmentally-responsible EcaFlo® Anolyte, branded by Benchmark for oil and gas field applications as “Excelyte®,” which in this application is used to manage bacteria in stimulation and “frac” fluids in production wells and to improve production in wells impacted by down-hole growth of bacteria and restrictive biomass. EcaFlo® Anolyte also can remove scale and biofilm buildup from piping and systems, improving performance and enhancing well production. Electrochemical activation (ECA) is innovatively deployed by I.E.T.’s EcaFlo® equipment, using water and a minute amount of sodium chloride, and reliably producing EcaFlo® Anolyte (non-hazardous hypochlorous acid) at a minimum of 500 ppm Free Available Chlorine (FAC) and at neutral pH.
